Big Spring at Cleveland Botanical Garden – NOW OPEN
Imagine a curious world where kids can crawl, run, play and discover in an enchanting garden that towers above them and surrounds them with wonderful, vibrant color. This world of floral and whimsical fantasy exists at Cleveland Botanical Garden, where Big Spring returns for its second year.
Surrounded by the sights and scents of bright, beautiful flowers and the sounds of cozy, familiar spring showers, children will be transported into a larger-than-life wonderland of springtime fun, where – rain or shine – choosing what to do first is a kid’s only conundrum:
Dress up Like Insects at the Toadstool Theatre
Kids can don the antennae and wings of their favorite bugs and put on a show for their parents, all while learning what makes bugs unique and why they’re so important to the world around us.
Make a Toast at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
Find a secret, secluded grove hosting a tea party for the Garden’s young guests.
    Explore the Ladybug Labyrinth
Kids – and their imaginations – can run wild through an indoor hedge maze filled with ladybug facts and treasures.
Join in Polly’s Pollination Parade every day at 12:30 p.m.
Polly – the Garden’s honeybee mascot – loves to dance, play and teach children about the vital roles bees play in our lives and the unique ways bees live.
    Crawl through the Discovery Log
Trek through the Discovery Log where you’ll come eye to eye with fascinating and exotic frogs from around the world.
    Go Off to the Races
Buy and build a puddle bug boat and set sail in a fish-filled pond or dash off to the mealworm racetrack where kids can pick out a mealworm to race to the finish line.
Welcome Spring to Hershey Children’s Garden
The Garden’s popular Hershey Children’s Garden re-opens for the season with Big Spring, featuring daily activities that are sure to thrill kids of all ages!
This spring, go from housebound to spellbound in one giant step!

While we do not have a service project planned for the month of April, we still have several things planned for this month's general meeting. Please begin gathering pop/beer/can tabs and bring them with you on the 14th.  We will be giving these to the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland.

We have several packs of purple, blue or yellow baby "thank you" notes that will be available at the meeting.  We are asking for a $5 donation for a pack of 4 cards.  100% of these proceeds will sponsor team ALECPTA for the March of Dimes walk in May.  We will also still accept dimes, loose change and cash donations should you choose to help us reach our goal of $2000.  :)

On behalf of the community service committee, we are so appreciative for the response and support we have gotten from you this year.  We have tried to focus our efforts on serving our community through not just financial resources, but the precious resource of giving of ourselves by donating time and giving from the heart.  Thank you in advance for helping us finish the year on a positive note!

In March, each unit should ask its members to nominate an award recipient based on that person's achievements and dedication to the Unit for that year. ALL members including officers can be nominated for this award. Nominations are to be made by filling out the application form with the nominee's name, the reason for the nomination and the signature of the PTA member who has nominated this applicant. All applications should be turned in to:  annie.alecpta@gmail.com
Each unit should then select the best recipient to represent their unit either by vote or by committee.

Don't forget to bring your dimes to the meeting Monday, March 10th. I found $10.40 of dimes just around my house today!! I didn't even sneak into the kids piggy banks either! If you do not have dime rolls you can bring them in a baggie no problem!
    Thanks!!!!
