Camp !magine is a 501(c)(3) organization offering summerenrichment to children with special needs.

Begin the week of Monday, September 15 and end Thursday, December 4. No registration is required. Numbered tickets are available 15 minutes before each scheduled time.

Preschool Sports is offering a NEW "Pre-Pads" Football Class!

The class is 5 weeks long, for children grades 1-4, and will take place Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm starting Thursday July 10th through Thursday August 14th. 

The class will work on developing the following skills:

• Blocking Skills
  
• Proper Technique on carrying the football
  
• Running
  
• Catching
  
• Throwing
  
• Conditioning

The class will take place behind the Avon Lake United Church of Christ.

Cost is $60 (t-shirt included).

Every Wednesday at 2pm, the Lorain County Metroparks offers Kids in the Garden. This is a half-hour program offered at Schoepfle Garden in Birmingham. There will be a hike, craft, and/or story each week. The topics are listed below:

The butterfly house at Miller Nature Preserve in Avon will open on June 23rd and will be open daily 10am-5:30pm until Labor Day.  Miller Nature Preserve is located at 2739 Center Rd.

If you and/or your children would like to try catching butterflies to be released at the butterfly house at Miller Nature Preserve, the first catch program is June 19th at 11 am at Black River Reservation. Meet at the Days Dam trailhead. Some nets will be provided. Wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

Bricks 4 Kidz Westlake has posted their summer open play hours. Take your kids to the Creativity Center for supervised Creative Play in their room full of LEGOs.  Free play is $7/hour/kid.

Due to popularity, Preschool Sports has added a Monday night class for Summer Tot T-Ball - Session 2. 

This class begins on Monday, June 23rd, 2014 from 6:15pm to 7:15pm.  

Program Overview

Classes are designed for ages 3-6, currently enrolled in Preschool through Kindergarten.
Classes run for forty-five (45) minutes each week, for five (5) weeks per session.
Class size is limited to 25 to ensure each child’s individual attention per session

Classes will be held at:

Tot T-Ball has been designed to introduce children to the game of T-ball in a non-competitive environment through repetition and teamwork in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. We cover the basics of the game — with color-coded bases, age-appropriate equipment like wiffle balls. Everyone bats at least once and runs the bases each game. Age appropriate safety equipment is used and basic ground rules are set for the children and parents so that everyone enjoys their time while participating.

Additional intellectual and social skills/tools to be developed:

• Forming Lines
  
• Taking Turns
  
• Confidence and Self Esteem Building
  

Each child should come with: tennis shoes, soft athletic shorts, t-shirt, and water bottle. A glove is not required for this class.

Registration and Fees

• REGISTRATION FEE: $55 per child, per session (Fee includes T-shirt)
  
• Discount for two (2) or more children in the same family.
• A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of registration.
