For those of you diligently following the Community Service Calendar that was distributed in August/September- Thank you! We really appreciate all of your generous contributions and your willingness to serve our community. However, there will be a small change/addition for the month of November. We will not be serving a Thanksgiving meal in Lorain on November 27th, as stated on the calendar. We found a service opportunity closer to home- right here in Avon Lake!

The Avon Lake Presbyterian Church on Electric (where Cornerstone Preschool meets) will be serving a Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, November 21st to approximately 120 residents. We are in need of 3-4 parents who could help make this event run smoothly. You would need to be there from approximately 11:00AM-1:30PM. Since they already have a team of core people who will be making and serving the meal, you (and your children if you'd like) will be providing the guests with a small treat bag and a preschooler-crafted placemat. You are welcome to mingle with the guests and help make their holiday lunch a little extra special.

If you are unable to help at the meal, but would be interested in crafting with your child or children, we will be hosting a craft session at Avon Lake Public Library at 10:00AM on Tuesday, Nov 15th to assemble small treat bags, turkey table centerpieces and Thanksgiving placemats. We need 60 placemats so please come join us if your schedule allows!
Lastly, we are calling all UNWANTED/DISLIKED/LEFTOVER HALLOWEEN CANDY! Raid your childrens' bags while they are sleeping! Bring a couple handfuls with you to the Vendor fair on Monday, Nov 11th!

If there is no candy to be found in your house- there is one last thing you can do for us....save your toilet paper rolls! We will need these for the centerpiece craft!

We are excited about focusing the efforts of ALECPTA to be one of a giving, service-oriented organization!! Thank you for your part in making this happen!!
